 Environmental Publications

ABC's of Children's Environmental Health Toolkit - Focuses on how to create healthy environments through various activities such as eating, bathing, cleaning and playing and is presented using a health promotion model.

Agriculture and Agrifood Canada (AARC): Agriculture 2010: Challenges and Opportunities - Ruth Pryzner, of Manitoba's Mixedwood Forest Society, participated as an ENGO delegate to recent consultations as a delegate from the RCEN's Agriculture Caucus.  This is her report from that session and her comments on the challenges and opportunities facing the agricultural sector.

Biodiversity Best Practices Handbook - This handbook features 12 projects that were selected as representative best practices of what ENGOs are doing to help increase or protect biodiversity from coast to coast to coast in Canada.

No Silver Lining: An Investigation into Bisphenol A in Canned Foods - tested food from 50 cans, including organic canned food, from Canada and the U.S. for BPA contamination.

Resources for the beginning farmer - This factsheet is meant to assist you in thinking about how to specifically define your goals, how to educate yourself, how to market your products, and finance your agricultural venture.

Greenpeace Canada's Tissue Guide - gives concerned consumers the information needed to buy products that come from recycled paper instead.

What not to plant - is a list, compiled by Invasive Species Council of Manitoba, of non-native garden plants to avoid because they are considered invasive in Manitoba.
