Dan McInnis is a proud Manitoban with a keen interest in a broad range of environmental issues. Dan has a diverse background in public policy development, program implementation and operational management.
Prior to “retirement” in 2013, Dan was the Assistant Deputy Minister responsible for Manitoba’s climate change and environmental protection programs. He represented Manitoba’s interests at four international climate change meetings as well as oversaw the successful implementation of the Beyond Kyoto Climate Change Action Plan. Other roles include senior management positions with municipal governments.
Subsequent to “retirement”, Dan has undertaken a number of roles and projects. These include Executive Director of Sustainable Building Manitoba for 4 years; seeking opportunities related to thermal hydrolysis of wastewater biosolids; determining beneficial reuse options for automotive shredder residue and various management assignments for a personal care home.
Dan is active in his community and currently serves on 4 Boards and volunteers at the Christmas Cheer Board. In no particular order, Dan enjoys being a grandfather, trips with his wife, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and playing racquetball.
