The Living Prairie Museum is hosting our annual Monarch Butterfly Festival on Sunday July 16, 2017, from 12:00-16:00. The festival encourages butterfly conservation through education and activities for adults and children. The event reaches up to 1000 people, and attendance is free.
We are currently looking for volunteers to oversee children’s crafts, face painting, distributing milkweed, and a variety of other event duties. We are especially looking for volunteers with face-painting or silk-screening experience. This opportunity is best suited for ages 16+.
Volunteers typically start at 11:00 am and stay for the duration of the event, including orientation and set-up the morning of the festival. However, we are happy to accept volunteers who can only offer a few hours of their time. We will provide orientation, lunch, and a volunteer rest area inside the interpretive center.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 204-832-0167 if you would like to volunteer for this event.
