Thank you for joining us at our 2017 Reel Green evening and fundraiser!
We hope you had a wonderful time on March 16 at Reel Green. The evening was hosted by former CBC radio host/producer, Terry MacLeod, and featured a series of inspiring short films celebrating our natural environment, delicious food and drink, eco-themed prizes and auctions plus a sustainable fashion show modeled by some of our very own Member Groups! This year we were proud to announce that six of the seven films were produced in Manitoba and would like to thank Build Films, Katharina Stieffenhofer, Scott Douglas, Jonathan Ventura, Jesse Vanderhart, Jeffrey McKay, and Gear Junkie Productions.
A special congratulations to Dr. Jon Gerrard for receiving the 2017 Protecting our Earth Award (Earthie). Dr. Gerrard has been contributing to environmental areas such as Research and advocacy related to Bald Eagles, Advocacy aimed at saving the Experimental Lakes Area, Action directed towards saving Lake Winnipeg, Efforts to get orphaned mine sites cleaned up, Climate Change advocacy; and The promotion of environmental industries. We would also like to once again thank and congratulate all those who were nominated: Bridging the Gap, Gordon Goldsborough, Michael Lee (Power Smart), Dave Pancoe (The Forks), Prairie Climate Centre, and the Wa Ni Ska Tan Hydro Alliance. Thanks to Donna Lee from Shaw for creating the POEA nomination video and Emelita Walton for photographing the evening.
Clothing for this years fashion show was provided by Voila Designs, Lennard Taylor and BellaBALAS.
Proceeds from the evening assist us greatly in creating positive environmental action in Manitoba and beyond. Your attendance and donations support Eco-Network programming on climate change, water conservation, youth leadership, and organic yard care, as well as help us to support and promote the incredible work done by our member groups. Thank you for sharing the evening with us!
Did you win a prize from one of these fantastic donors? Lucky duck! We couldn’t have had such a wonderful evening without their support.
