2008-08-06: Notice of Environment Act Proposal: Manitoba Aboriginal and Northern Affairs has filed a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act for the decommission, construction and operation of an extended aeration sewage treatment plant located on Lot 15, Block 3, Plan 573 at Sherridon, Manitoba to serve the Community of Sherridon. The proposed sewage treatment plant consists of influent lift station, flow equalization, aeration, and ultraviolet disinfection, and will be able to treat the wastewater flows of 225 people. Treated wastewater from the extended aeration sewage treatment plant will be continuously discharged to Sherlett Creek which empties into Camp Lake. The existing gravity sewer main #2 and lift station will be decommissioned.
Anyone likely to be affected by the above operation and who wishes to make a representation either for or against the proposal should contact the Department, in writing or by E-mail (refiqul.chowdhury@gov.mb.ca) not later than SEPTEMBER 12, 2008.

2008-07-29: Notice of Environment Act Proposal: A Proposal for the St. Joseph Wind Energy Project has been filed by St. Joseph Wind Farm Inc. for the construction and operation of a 300 megawatt (MW of net electrical generation capacity) commercial wind energy facility. BowArk Energy Ltd. is acting on behalf of the St. Joseph Wind Farm Inc. as the primary developer for the Project. The Project area overlaps the Rural Municipalities of Rhineland and Montcalm in the vicinity of the town of St. Joseph approximately 85 km south of Winnipeg. Up to 200 wind turbine generators are proposed to be installed over an area of approximately 215 sq. km of land. An Environment Impact Study Report has been filed in support of the Environment Act Proposal. Construction is tentatively targeted to begin in 2009, with operation anticipated to commence in 2011.
