Join Climate Change Connection and Help Build Climate Solutions in Manitoba

Are you passionate about climate education, community engagement, and creating meaningful change?

Climate Change Connection (CCC) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Youth Public Education and Outreach Associate to join our team for a 16-week summer position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a post-secondary student to gain hands-on experience in environmental education, public engagement, digital communications, and climate action initiatives while supporting projects that make a real difference in Manitoba communities.

Working closely with CCC staff, the successful candidate will contribute to public education and outreach activities focused on climate change awareness, youth engagement, and community-based climate solutions.
What You’ll Do

As the Youth Public Education and Outreach Associate, you will support Climate Change Connection’s communications, outreach, and education initiatives by:

Climate Education & Communications

Build an understanding of climate science and key climate issues affecting Manitoba.
Review, update, and develop content for the Climate Change Connection website.
Create engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
Research, write, and design educational materials for digital and print audiences.
Respond to public inquiries and help connect Manitobans with climate-related resources.

Community Outreach & Engagement

Interview and showcase local climate action initiatives and community leaders.
Deliver presentations and educational sessions to youth and community groups.
Identify and support opportunities for outreach events, displays, and public engagement activities.
Support youth-led climate action and community initiatives across Manitoba.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Interest in climate change, sustainability, and environmental education.
Experience with or enthusiasm for digital communications and content creation.
Comfortable engaging respectfully with diverse communities and partner organizations.

Technical Skills

Experience with:

Canva (or other graphic design/and editing tools)
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
WordPress
Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Internet research and online communication tools

Working Conditions

This is a remote/work-from-home position.
