Group Hike at Narcisse Snake Dens - CPAWS Manitoba
Group Hike at Narcisse Snake Dens - CPAWS Manitoba
May 2, 2026 11:00 am - 2:30 pm
Narcisse Snake Dens, MB-17, Narcisse, MB R0C 0N0, Canada
CPAWS MB: " Explore the Narcisse Snake Dens!
Join us for a fun group hike to the famous Narcisse Snake Dens, home to the largest concentration of garter snakes in the world. In spring and fall, thousands of red-sided garter snakes gather here, offering a unique spectacle as they emerge from their winter dens.
**KEEP IN MIND: We have planned this date hoping that the snakes will have emerged, BUT WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE THEY WILL BE THERE. We will still host this hike regardless, as it's a beautiful trail. If the snakes are there, be prepared for the trail to be incredibly busy, and it will be hard to follow the group, but we will try our best. We also recommend carpooling to the event, as the parking lot will be very full (find a carpool friend on our "CPAWS Nature Club" Facebook group)."

Earth’s Greatest Enemy - Peace Alliance Winnipeg/MEJC/MbEN
Earth’s Greatest Enemy - Peace Alliance Winnipeg/MEJC/MbEN
May 22, 2026 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
🌎The Manitoba Eco-Network is co-sponsoring an upcoming event with the Dave Barber Cinematheque and Peace Alliance Winnipeg, for a screening of “Earth’s Greatest Enemy” - a documentary showcasing how the United States military, as the world's largest polluter, impacts the environment while operating with minimal accountability.
🎥May 22nd, 7pm @ Dave Barber Cinematheque (100 Arthur St, Winnipeg)
🌎From Cinematheque:
“Exempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting, the Pentagon is revealed here as the world’s single largest institutional polluter - spewing carbon, contaminating water, and scarring landscapes across the globe. Combining investigative journalism, striking visuals, and stories from impacted communities, Earth’s Greatest Enemy challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences. Provocative, urgent, and eye-opening, this is a documentary that will change how you see both the military and environmentalism.”
🎥Join us on May 22 for a virtual post-screening conversation with filmmaker Abby Martin.
🎟️TICKETS: https://davebarbercinematheque.com/event/earths-greatest-enemy/2026-05-22/
🌎Presented in partnership with Peace Alliance Winnipeg, Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition, and the Manitoba Eco Network.
