TITLE: Satellite City Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

Satellite City Coordinator is a hybrid remote/in-person role, responsible for the remote execution of Leftovers Foundation’s Rescue Food programs in Lethbridge, Red Deer, Airdrie, Hinton, and Selkirk. This position reports to the Operations Manager, but will also work directly with the Winnipeg City Coordinator and in conjunction with the rest of the Operations team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintain, pursue, and develop partnerships with food vendors, service agencies, and other strategic partners across operating regions.
  • Coordinate and manage food redirection via our Rescue Food app.
  • Continually recruit, maintain, and manage a committed volunteer force with drivers who are passionate about diverting food waste to ensure regular coverage of routes.
  • Track and report food redirection data through monthly reporting.
  • Support the Winnipeg City Coordinator with distribution at the Winnipeg warehouse on Jarvis Ave.
  • Contribute to the optimization of app, website, and internal document design and functionality.
  • Contribute to our emerging culture of localized philanthropy by seeking out strategic partner connections
  • Support and liaise with broader operations team
  • Attend relevant meetings with the larger organization and contribute as able to organizational initiatives, strategic planning, and operational goals.
  • Act as an advocate for thriving food systems and innovation for less food waste through participation in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Leftovers’ Satellite City Coordinator will be

  • Local to Winnipeg
  • Experienced in a related industry (1-3 years)
  • Passionate about Canada’s food landscape, waste diversion, and community building
  • Experienced in volunteer and schedule management
  • Experienced in effective relationship-building across organizations, businesses and other community partners
  • Familiar with Google’s G Suite of programs (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, etc.), and willing to learn and use multiple tech-based tools
  • Able to plan, organize, and manage time efficiently in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to solve problems, prioritize, and remain focused under pressure
  • Able to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Able to act as Leftovers’ ambassador in a positive and professional manner
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneous
  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including some evenings/weekends
  • Able to access a vehicle and possess a valid Class 5 license (access to a vehicle is periodically required for this position)

Not required, but additional bonus points for candidates who are

  • Familiar with working or volunteering in a non-profit environment
  • Familiar with program management software (e.g. Asana)
  • Familiar with remote work and associated software (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet)

COMPENSATION 

● $24/hour, up to 15 hours per week

● 6-month contract, starting ASAP with a possibility of extension
