Eco-Journal Archives

⭐ From 1987 to 2020, the Manitoba Eco-Network published the ECO-JOURNAL: It was a quarterly publication that featured environmentally-conscious topics and perspectives from across the province. Over its three-decade run, it showcased countless moments in Manitoba’s environmental history, from early discussions on food security and nuclear waste storage, to the creation of local advocacy groups.

⭐ Over the past year, we created a digital archive of the Eco-Journal in an effort to preserve Manitoba’s environmental history. Knowing our history is essential to imagining a better future.

⭐ This summer, we took a field trip to the Archives of Manitoba to fill in the missing pieces. With their help, we were able to find a number of missing back-issues, scan and digitize them, and upload them to our existing archive.

⭐ The Eco-Journal archives are now more complete than ever. They’re available for FREE on our website.

⭐ If you’re a fan of environmental history and record-keeping, support the Eco-Network today! Your donations allow us to maintain our existing advocacy work within the province, and work towards a greener future for Manitoba. We’re hoping to celebrate 43 years of the Eco-Network by raising $43k before the end of 2026.
