Save LeMay Forest – URGENT, TAKE ACTION before March 14th, Townhall on March 15

On March 27th Winnipeg City Council will vote on a motion to expropritate the Lemay Forest. You can read the Motion here.

Lemay Forest: Awasak Ayahsig Sakahk (Children of the Forest) is one of the last remaining intact riparian forests in Winnipeg, and its importance to Indigenous peoples and Nations is profound. This creates a once in a lifetime opportunity to create an Indigenous lef conservation intiative inside the Winnipeg City Limits.

Citizens of Winnipeg are being called upon to call their City Councillor and to tell them to vote in support of expropriation.

The timing of this phone campaign is crucial. Please make phone calls by March 14th. Please also report back using this tracking form, so that further advocacy can be coordinated.

A Town Hall to Save the LeMay Forest will take place at the University of Winnipeg on March 15th (see the events section below for more details).
