MbEN Comments: Brandon Dispatchable Capacity Project

This month, the Manitoba Eco-Network had the opportunity to provide comments on the project proposal for the Brandon Dispatchable Capacity Project.

We have outlined potential impacts, including adverse impacts on fish and fish habitat, wildlife and migratory birds, and the environment, as well as potential impacts for Indigenous rights-holders.

MbEN recommends that this project be subject to a full federal impact assessment due to the potential for adverse effects within numerous areas of federal jurisdiction – and for the fact that Manitoba’s provincial impact assessment process alone will not adequately address the impacts of this project.
