Project Summary

On May 7, 2024, the Manitoba Eco-Network provided support to a workshop in the West Broadway area that we planned with the Canadian Red Cross, Winnipeg’s Office of Emergency Management, and the West Broadway Community Organization. The workshop was a great success, with 15+ participants and 7 emergency kits raffled off to the group. We were encouraged by this success to continue following our plan to continue offering these workshops to our other community partners.

On November 14, 2024 in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, Winnipeg’s Office of Emergency Management, and West End Resource Centre, we held a disaster preparedness workshop for Daniel McIntyre and St. Matthews neighborhoods.

On January 21, 2025 in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, Winnipeg’s Office of Emergency Management, and Spence Neighbourhood Association, we held a disaster preparedness workshop for the Spence neighbourhood.

We continue to engage with the Canadian Red Cross, Winnipeg’s Office of Emergency Management, and our community partners.
